Steven Duffy is 70 years old and born and raised in Davenport, Iowa, which is where he grew up and attended school. He went on to coach youth baseball for over 27 years, as well as coaching football, wrestling, and refereeing. Steven operated the Go-Kart track in Mt Joy for kids and family for 26 years. During the summers while he attended college at St. Ambrose, he managed the swimming pools Fejervary and Le Claire pool and also drove a school bus for Davenport Schools.
Later Mayor Tom Hart appointed Steven to serve on the River Center/Adler Theater commission, totaling 15 years of service. For over 35 years he was employed as a claims manager for National TPA firm, with his office located in Bettendorf, Iowa where we represented Cities and governments on their insurance needs. Steven supervised adjusters in the claim handling process reporting to excess carriers.
For 25 years he was involved in the Self Insured Insurance program for the City of Davenport, serving as Davenport’s Claims manager. The company handled all claims for the City of Davenport, GL, AL Police Liability, Property loss and Recovery for the City. He worked very closely with the Cities risk manager and the legal department.
Being a lifelong resident and having a strong background in the City makes Steven very compassionate about his feelings for what goes on within the City of Davenport, he wants to see the City grow further, and in the right direction, for our youth, seniors, and all citizens alike.
